Employers take ASIS board certification seriously. And Professional Certified Investigators are in demand because hiring managers know the value of their investigations expertise.
If you’ve acquired investigations knowledge through your work experience, adding a PCI to your resume validates your specialized investigative skills. PCI certification increases job security because it’s a credential that’s individually owned and widely viewed as indicator of accomplishment and continuing professional development.
The PCI identifies individuals with the proven ability to plan, organize, direct, coordinate, and control security investigations and is based on demonstrated knowledge in these three areas:
• Case Management
• Evidence Collection
• Case Presentation

PCI certification could be the deciding factor the next time you apply for a job. Make yourself a more valuable asset to your current company and to a future employer. The professional recognition and respect you gain from earning the PCI immediately enhances your standing in the security profession.
As a PCI, you and your employer gain liability protection under the SAFETY Act Designation awarded to ASIS by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. You receive protection from lawsuits involving ASIS certification that arise out of an act of terrorism. It limits the types of liability claims that can be brought against you and entitles you to immediate dismissal of those types of claims. The ASIS certification program is the first of its kind to receive this protection under The Support Anti-terrorism by Fostering Effective Technologies Act of 2002 (the SAFETY Act).
Are you eligible to apply for the PCI? You are eligible if you have earned a high school diploma or GED equivalent and have at least five years of experience in the security investigations field.
Invest in your career. Invest in your future.

Exam Preparation Resources |
Although the ASIS Professional Certification Board (PCB) does not produce, sponsor, or endorse any exam preparation materials, it encourages individuals to thoroughly prepare for the exam since the process of certification is based on a mastery of the body of knowledge.
ASIS International offers study guides and review courses that give an indication of the scope and range of subject areas tested on the exam. Certification materials are continually updated, so the current version should be used. The use of several exam preparation resources is recommended.
