Speaker -- Elwood "Woodie" Norris, Chairman & Founder of American Technology Corporation talked and demonstrated the use of "directed sound technologies" in security and military applications.  Noting, among other things, that these devices were deployed in Iraq by the U.S. Military, had been used by NYPD for crowd control and by a cruise liner in off the coast of Somalia to repeal pirates in high speed boats armed with .50 cal. machine guns.   He also demonstrated how directed sound technology was used in commercial retail applications to provide a customer in front of a specific display a marketing message, while the customer immediately to either side did not hear the message, but heard the one for the display they were standing in front of.
